BBC NEWS AT 10

1) The key information about the programme:

·                BBC News at 10 is broadcasted on channels 501 and 503
·                Time: Monday to Sunday at 10pm
·                The presenters are Huw Edwards, Fiona Bruce and George Alagiah Michael Buerk and Peter Sissons. The ones in bold are Launch presenters.
·                The average viewing figures are 4.9 million each night.
·                The programme has won the people’s choice and the judges' award many times.
·                The logo/brand identity of the programme:

Description: https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=824117767333941935#editor/target=post;postID=6014340892251474769;onPublishedMenu=allposts;onClosedMenu=allposts;postNum=14;src=postname

2) The institution behind the programme – this is usually the TV channel it is broadcast on. Find out:
1) The channel was first launched on 14th September 1970 but at 9pm on the 16th October 2000 it was then changed to BBC
News at 10
2) The founder of this programme is John Reith; however the person in charge (Director) - General Mark Thompson.

Any other information about the channel you can find:
The most common rental scams involve a rogue landlord renting out a property that isn’t theirs to rent. Some conmen may do this by breaking into an empty property and then holding viewings for multiple prospective tenants. They will take deposits from as many as possible and then disappear without trace.
Another variation of this targets people who are moving to the UK and won’t be able to view their rental property before moving in. Adverts will be placed online and again deposits will be taken via online banking or wire transfer. Victims of this scam will then arrive in the UK and suddenly find they have nowhere to live.

3) The target audience
I think BBC One at 10 is targeted mainly at adults and specific teens because it’s about what’s happening in the world such as war and political issues so it isn’t suitable for small children. 37% teens and 63% adults’ females and males 50% - 50%
24/08/2014

The news story I chose was about a journalist that was brutally murdered for having a brother in the US military. I think that they started with the national stories first and then moved onto the stories around the world because people are
usually more concerned about what’s happening in their own area/ country.
25/08/2014

The news story for the date stated above was about the meeting with the Scottish government about Scotland becoming a independent country and the debate went smoothly, Alex handled the questions really well however not everyone in Scotland agrees that Scotland should be an independent country because of the money and the resources.

27/08/2014

Today the first story was about how 100's of children were sexually abused in Rotherham and only the council leader had resigned. A victim said that the police and council haven't done anything to help she said that they let the guy go without charge. One child has been brutally murdered after being abused.
The second story is about how in Syria the boys over 14 are preparing to go to fight in war. The war seems to have changed into several different conflicts. The war began due to short and long term causes.

Film Production

Retro Girls- 4 schoolgirls end up enemies.
The genre for this film is urban and drama. This is a cross between Kidulthood and Sket. The title for this film is Retro Girls. This film will appeal to the core cinema going age group of 15-25 because of the violence and strong language that would be in it and also the modern slang language would be involved to attract a bigger audience. The setting for my movie is a park named Rectory Park and estates in northolt and a School. The story is based around 4 best friends named Rhianna the popular stereo typical pretty girl of the gang, then you have Megan, who is the dumb one that you would least except to get the boy, Keisha the brave one with a lot of attitude and the last girl is Rebecca who is the smart one that thinks of the possibilities and consequences but tags along with the girls. There are 4 girls with 4 different lifestyles, who are best friends until there is a new boy named Connor , that they all want. As head girl of the group of best friends named Rhianna, is not happy that Connor goes for someone other then her but one of her best friends named Megan. The group of girls end up not being friends with Megan and she gets the shock of her life when all her friends turn against her.

Film Posters and Trailers

The key conventions on this film posters is
-central image
-title
-social network
-production blurb
-cast/directors
-release date
-tag lines
-institution tags+ certification

The central image attracts the audience with the colour scheme that is there. Such as the fire in the background and the colour of the writing. Also the central image might attract the audience because there is just one person on the cover to show that she is the main character of this movie.
The title might attract the audience because there's was a book that inspired the films of the hunger games so it will attract an audience because people would of already heard about the hunger games on the radio or YouTube and other social networks that can connect to the media. The social network might attract the audience because of twitter, facebook, Youtube etc. Also it might attract an audience because it is a way to connect to different networks about The Hunger Games There are fan bases and websites around so there is no average age for a Hunger Games fan. The cast might attract the audience because they have seen them all around on billboards and on adverts also because they had a successful film for the first one everyone would know who they are.

Key conventions for this trailer is

-age ratings
-fast pace editing
-institution tags
-title
-release date
-text on screen
-social networks
-non digestic
-Music that communicates the genre and feel of film
-mise-en-scene

As you could see at the beginning of he trailer there was the age ratings so people could know what age it was for.  Then there was non-diegestic music that the charcaters couldnt here so people could see how professional and serious the screen was. Then there is fast editing to show small snippets to show tag lines and audience what's its about. The release date is on the screen because people now a days dont listen to voice overs because movies don't that any more. Mise-en scene is through out the film to show that the theme they are going for us futuristic. At the end the title is displayed and the social networks are as well to show people that there are other ways of connecting to the hunger games such as fan sites and channels etc.

Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Hunger Games: Catching Fire

I choose the Hunger Games: Catching Fire because I've watched the first movie and the movie I  am analyzing. I say this because its a remarkable movie that has a lot of ways to analyze and pick out things to infer on. Also the story line has an amazing effect on people and got people engaged in it too.

Institutional Background

The production company behind the movie is Lions gate and Colour Force and they helped to make the film also Lions gate Home Entertainment.

No Brand Loyalty

The film I am researching genre is adventure and sci-fi.  I say this because its basically about what would happen in the future and its a long journey that doesn't end. Also in the trailer you can see guards dressed in futuristic clothes and covered in all white to signify that its sci-fi kind of movies nd you can infer from that its a linked to the genre. The movie has a sequel and a third movie coming out this year because the Hunger Games was originally a book then writer brought out three books such as Hunger Games, Hunger Games:Catching Fire and Hunger Games: Mockingjay. Therefore the producer has planned on bringing all of the movies that were books. In all the movies its based on a girl named Katniss Everdeen that took part in a game show where she has to participate with 12 other contestants but the only unfortunate thing is that they are all young from 10-17 .

It's all a matter thing
The hunger games was released on the 22nd November 2014.

Trailer

Teaser

Its a social thing
The reviews for this film is quite poor to be honest. One review said it was a long, boring and awful film. Another film review said it was a disappointing ending and bad perfromance . The other review said its a waste of money and it doesn't deserve high ratings because its confusing and hard to understand.

Risky business
The original budget for this film was $130,000,000 (estimated). For the opening weekend that got $161,125,000 with 4,163 screens. The gross in the usa is $161,125,000. The worldwide gross is currently $424,668,047.

Stare in their eyes
The director that directored the film was Francis Lawrence. Francis Lawrence normalky directs action, adventure movies such as I am legend, costantine, the hunger games Mockingjay . Also his career has been directing music videos such as britteny spears , jennifer lopez etc. In this film the main star is katniss everde who is played by Jennifer lawrence. She plays heroic, brave and curious character through every single one of the films. The main star (Jennifer Lawrence) has starred in many movies for example silver linings playbook, american hustle, x-men:first class and many more. All of the films are drama based related and thats why I think film producers might want her because shes good at playing in a dramatic film that is also thats got 2 or 3 genres to the movie. The stars, directors and writers are mentioned in their trailers and film posters,

Assignment 2: Genre and NCIS

Ouija(2014)

Genre
Horror

Narrative
The story line for this film is that there is a girl named Debbie and she finds a ouija board mysteriously in her house. All of sudden she dies from the bad spirits that came out of the board. Then her friends find the same ouija board and they think they can communicate to Debbie through it but get a shock of their life when they find out its not calling Debbie its inviting bad spirits.

Character
The characters are close friends and they had a friend called Debbie and they are typical american teenagers, just hanging around with their friends and chilling. There are 3 girls and 2 boys.
In horror films there is usually a joker that never takes it seriously, there is always a heroin or hero who tries to be courageous and solve the problem, and the rest of them are usually curious, terrified and are depending on one of the friends to do most of the solving and figure out what has happened.

Iconography
There are loads of iconography in this typical horror film with poltergeist, dark lighting, eerie sound effects, loud tension, gore, blood ,fire, dolls, a scary ghost, writing on the wall and tragic injuries. All these are typical sources you would normally see in a horror film and this will link to the narrative that its a typical teenage american horror film.

Setting
Even though its a 3 minutes long trailer it shows the setting of a creepy, eerie and huge house to show that something obviously bad is going to happen. Also it being based in a huge house shows its a horror movie because horror movies are not usually based in a shopping mall. Normally in small quiet areas where no one will be there to see or hear what has happened.

Spring Breakers(2012)

Genre
Crime/Drama

Narrative
The story line for this film is there are 4 girls that are in college and Spring break is coming up. They want to do something different for spring break so they decide to rob stores, get money, party all night and take drugs. This shows its a american crime/drama film because its intense and a dramatic film.

Characters
The characters in this film are well known actresses that have featured in many movies. Also there is one girl in the group of friends that doesn't want to go through it because they think of the consequences but because they are all close friends ,that would do anything for each other she goes along with the girls. There will always be a very aggressive one that will do the dirty work in the group and the girls won't question what she does.

Iconography
There is a majority of iconography of this film such as guns, knifes, robbery, parties, drugs, police, money, gangstas, arguments, strong language and sexual references. All of these make up for that its a crime/drama.

Setting
The trailer to this film is only 2 minutes long but I can see that the girls were in hotel because of them being poor then it went to a different location in Miami on a beach with loud music and loads of young teenagers dancing and having fun. Also it shows how they are on a tight budget by going to a open party where there a loads of people there.

Maleficent(2014)

Genre
Fantasy

Narrative
The story line to this film is that there is a iconic villain is living in forest with all her army and Sleeping beauty meets her in the forest and she becomes friends with her until Sleeping beauty's father finds outs and threatens her and her army to stay away but that then leads to a fight. This is a tense, fantasy movie.

Characters
In this movie there is obviously a villain because its based on a fairy tale but in a modern version. Maleficent is a strong, brave and cunning women who doesn't stand down. Then you have Sleeping beauty who is a beautiful ,pure heartened and oblivious young lady who has a over protected father who is the King of the kingdom and is a friendly girl.

Iconography
There is loads of iconography for example sound effects, special effects and  magical creatures. This shows how the genre is linked.

Setting
The setting is set in a medieval kingdom/forest to show how its very magical and mythical. Also its set in a whole big kingdom where there is creepy woods where it looks like no one goes. It stays in the same location because it shows how the story and the places are connected to each other.

Minority Report Analysis

Shot 1

The medium close-up angle shows the guards emotion and expression on their face that they look serious. Also they used this shot because there are showing people who the head police officer that is in charge. The police also know the guy they are catching because he use to be one of them. In the full clip this is the shot that is right after tom cruise just running away from the police.

Shot 2

The establishing shot shows the view of the setting Tom Cruise will be running to escape from the police. I can infer Tom Cruise must of done something thats why the lighting in the background is quite dark and scary and that shows the audience its action thrilling film.

Shot 3

The close up shows the expression of the mans face. Hes looking scared because of the guards are after him and he thought they wouldn't catch it. He's looking up to the camera to show he's looking weak and tired.

Media Analysis

Media Language

The first key convention tells the audience that this is an advert because the logo is in the middle to balance out the structure of the way they have put the celebrity advertising the beats pill product. The slogan below 'small but loud' tells the audience the beat pill may look small to people but it is actually loud when you use so it attracts people to think its a good speaker for people to use for their everyday life. The key images on the advert is famous female rapper 'Nicki Minaj' .The rapper was chosen because they know that she's famous and she has fans that look up to her so they would make money because of Nicki Minaj advertising the pill beats. If it was just some random stranger advertising it I think no one would buy the product. I say this because Nicki Minaj is a loud and bubbly character and people would buy it.

Institution

The institution for this advert is beats by dr dre, a successful multi-million speaker/headphone company. There is big pink letters saying 'meet nicki's new best friend' this suggests that Nicki recommends the product to all her fans and people out there to go and buy it because she likes and thinks that its the best. Also beats is a company that doesnt have one pacific celebrity they have loads to attract fans and people that are interested in the brand.

Audience

The target audience for this advert is her fans and 13-25. 90% femlaes and 10% male. I say this because mostly in the advert Nicki Minaj is wearing pink and the letters are pink and the product itself is pink so it would be attracting girls more than boys. The age range isn't that wide because the music Nicki Minaj does ,isn't for people that are old or lets say 28 and over. So it would be mostly for teenagers and young adults. I think youngsters would be attracted to this product. Also the only reason why people would buy it is because Nicki is a controversial person that doesn't care what people think and if The advert would probably attract people that are young into music know the brand beats by dr dre very well.

Representation

The representation for this advert is for young people clearly. I say this because when your young and your're into music a lot and you see something everyone has or a celebrity has you only get it not because you need it, its only because you see someone with it or a celebrity and also if its popular young people just tend to copy the crowd and buy it. Also people that would probably get this product ,they would listen to Nicki' music so the product would be sold to many people because the advert has convinces the viewers that its a good product and if a celebrity is there representing the company and product then it would make good money.

Media Debates

Celebrities have to much influence in society

In my opinion , I agree with this statement because news and newspapers are always centred around celebrities then inspirational celebrities or people that have achieved their goals. Also teenagers and children look up to celebrities because of movies, sports, music and much more. So if a celebrity breaks the law or does something inappropriate it will be all on the news and newspapers and that's how people are influenced by their ways. But at the same time people don't have to copy them because they have their own brain and they have their own life so they should be trying to be their self then celebrities Like for example Miley Cyrus started twerking on vmas awards and it was all over news and newspapers. That kind of behaviour isn't appropriate or good for kids/teenagers to watch and copy what they are doing. Elderly people would 70% agree with me because they didnt have instagram and twitter to connect with the stars but before when they were younger they didnt have contact or interaction .

Tv news research

Tv News Research:Channel 4 news

I am going to research channel 4 seven o'clock news. I thought to do channel 4 because not a lot of people think to do channel 4 because its not as big as BBC news so I thought to do something different and pick a news that is big but what people would least pick.

1)

The Channel 4 news is broadcasts on Channel 4. Channel 4 news is on the television for 7 days a week and the time its on is 7:00-8:00 pm. Also on the weekends Channel 4 news is broadcasts a different time then the weekdays, the time they have it run is on 6:40-7:05 pm but the show only lasts for 55 minutes so they have enough time to do interviews, reporters reporting problems&the weather. The Channel 4 team presenters are Jon Snow,Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Cathy Newman, Alex Thomson, Jackie Long, Liam Dutton, Michael Crick, Andy Davies, Darshna Soni and Matt Frei.

The main presenter for Channel 4 is Jon Snow along with Krishnan Guru-Murthy. Cathy Newman is another presenter but not one of the main ones. Then they have their Alex Thomson who is their chief correspondent that gives your news and information. Also we have Jackie Long who is Social affair editor and presenter and we have Liam Dutton which is Channel 4 news weather reporter, Michael Crick is their political correspondent, Andy Davies and Darshna Soni who is their Home affairs correspondents.Matt Frei is their only Europe editor that edits the the news around Europe.

The average viewing figures for Channel 4 news is 6.3 million. Channel 4 news has been awarded online media ward because of their website that has got a lot of ratings and the effects and news stories. Also they have been awarded programme of the year.

2)

Channel 4 news was launched on 2nd November 1982 at 4:45pm. The channel wasn't launched earlier because back in the day they didn't have variety channels ,so in the 80's they thought to make a channel 4 news since they had BBC news. Channel 4 news is owned by Channel four television corporation and its famous for their entertainment and news.

It's sisters are 4seven, film4, 4music, E4, More4,Kiss, Heat, Kerrang, Magic, The box and Smash hits.
In the early 2000's channel 4 decided to put a new show to get higher ratings and viewers ,which was dramatic, big and a reality game show. Its called Big brother. Its about 15-17 contestants that have to live in a big house designed to a theme that its set by big brother and they have to win by evicting someone every week and getting voted to stay by the audience and people at home.

3)

I think the target audience for Channel 4 news is for all ages because they have different news stories like interviews with pharrell was a debate on how his video was offensive to young females because of his song lyrics and I would assume the ages of 13+ would watch the interview. Also channel 4 news would attract youngsters more because its a bit modern with the effects and music. However it hasn't been around like BBC news,so it would have young people watching as well with old people. I think its 50/50 on female & male because not all male would just watch channel 4 news,I think its a fifty fifty chance they both watch it. In my opinion, I think there isn't a age restriction because it's a family programme. Also its easier to understand and they don't use as much big word like how bbc news does because the age they are aiming at is the elderly. I think this because the news reports that are being reported would draw attention to them. Like for example the Palestinians news report how they are getting attacked by the Israelites,it has effected a lot of people at home watching it and has pulled heart strings also from adults because of the families and children that have died because of the war.

4)

Thursday 14th August

-The yazidi refugees are trying to escape from being bombed in their old home in the mountain sinjar but some has escaped while some have dead and decide to stay at the mountain sinjar.
- Top A-level grades dropped for the first time for 21 years.
-Sir Cliff Richards has been under allegations of sexual abuse towards a young boy back in the 1980's
- A Christian pop star said when she was younger every one made her think she couldn't be a homo-sexual and Christian
-Nottingham Trent University made a error and a mistake for sending emails the day before the students results day if they go it in or not.

I think channel 4 news done the news stories in that order because the first story that has been reported is the top headline of their news because its been going on for days and people would mist probably want to know more information on it then the A level news. Also i think they put it that order for the most important headline to the not so important headline.

Monday 18th August

-A young black unarmed teen was shot in Missouri by a Ferguson Cop and now protesters are angry and upset for what has happen. Now they want to speak out for what has happened.
-The rugby team won against Canada on sunday
-Tomorrow Britain will find out if Scotland wants to independent as a country.
- Boko Haram is Africas best Taliban Terrorists have struck again by keeping men and abusing them.

I think they picked the first news story first because its a big story that has captured a lot or peoples attention and will draw them in to their news because if it was a boring news story at the beginning of the news then no one would be interested in it. Also the second news because their target audience don't just want to hear about politics, some might not want to just listen to the problems around the world they also want to hear about the positives achievements that inspirational people have done. They did the third one because its a campaign that has been going on for a long period of time and they want to inform people. And the last one,in my opinion I think they picked it to be last because its important but its rather a new news story for people to know about. Also the last story would make everyone feel tense and upset because they are ending on a heart breaking story that grabs people attention.

Friday 29th August

-Terrorist have threats towards the UK and our prime minister thinks its highly likely for the jhadist to attack the UK
-Missing 5 year old boy with a brain tumour went missing from the hospital for 24 hours
-America will defend Ukraine when it comes to a war between Ukraine and Iraq
-Food in hospitals are disgusting and need to be approved.
-UN Human rights
-More trouble for Malaysia Airlines

I think they started with the first story because they want to inform and make people think bout what might happen to the world if they make kill everyone and also it makes people think there are many possibility for what is to come. I think they picked the second story because it levels out the shock and sadness to people from the first story to the second. Also its international news that everyone going to be talking about so its attention seeking story to draw the audience to be interested. In my opinion I think the third story was picked because its a debatable news story that people at home could talk about and watch. Its got many answers and opinions on if Obama is doing the right thing or not. The fourth story was picked because it would alert people in the hospitals, that the food isn't up to good standards and should be good enough for people to eat. The fifth story was picked because human rights is a big subject/topic people around the world talk about and to hear that human beings are treating other human beings wrong is sad and upsetting to hear because everyone is equal. I think the last story was picked because the story was big when everyone heard it. It was on the news, newspapers, blogs everywhere and hearing the story that there's even more trouble it would get people thinking about how the plane crashed and what is there solution to this problem.

This is my new poster portrait for a new music rock artist called Angel with her new album called Darkstar.

Friday 4 July 2014

HSBC advert

I chose success because I wanted to relate to high school students and older adults when they want to achieve their goal they think of the word success. Also the word success comes with achieve and gal so I thought these images would express and show the meaning of all 3 of those words but mainly the word success.

Tv news bulletin

TV News Bulletin

1)Greenford news story: Sports days destination was moved because of a teacher strike.
National news story: Children's books are turned into benches.
London news story: David Cameron says bio medicines may stop working.
Sports news story: Belgium versus Usa world cup game.
Funny news story: The worlds ugliest dog competition

2.)Greenford news story: We chose this story because we wanted to attract the green-ford high students with something they would relate to. Also some of the students in our school would want answers or someone to say something about it seen as it was cancelled.

National news story: We chose this story because its something everyone would know. Also everyone at least read a children's story in life so it would attract students to watch it. Its interesting because its old children's books being turned into a bench with a picture or main character and setting on the bench with words on it.

London news story: We chose this story because its the top story on the BBC news and I think the teachers/students would of at least heard of it or read it or watched it on the news. Also its about our prime minister giving us a warning for us to know and find out what's happening in the future.

Sports news story: We chose this story because the world cup is global. Everyone watches it and people say it was a great match to watch. Also it was on the BBC news so everyone would of read it and heard about it so we chose it so people can engage with it.

Funny news story: We chose this story because it was a weird and wacky story to hear about and also we found it from a children's news web site to get more of a understanding of a funny story. Also when people hear about this the first thought would be that's weird and funny and to be honest I've never heard a competition called that.

3)The order we did it in was...
-Greenford story
-National story
-London story
-Sports story
-Funny story

4)We asked the girl that was doing the news bulletin to write out what she would say for the news because it was easier to know what she would say instead of us writing it.

5)We timed each story so we got the right length for the news because the 60seconds news is only 60 seconds so if it goes over then we would have to cut some words out so it was only 60 seconds.

6)We made sure the broadcast was professional by using formal language and having some to speak that was confident to speak and that took it serious.

7)My role in the group was to find a Funny story and a London story. It wasn't hard or difficult I think it was fine and I think I did a good job.

8) I would rate my group 3-4.

9)I think my group should of talked more and put our ideas across to each other instead of not talking but overall I think my group were good.

10) Found better stories and put each others ideas across.

Analysis on music videos and film trailers

Genre
This video is a film trailer. The genre of this film trailer is American Teen Comedy. The trailer is showing small snippets of the film it self but not too much because of the minutes of this trailer. If it was a film then it would be over 3 minutes and probably 96-120 minutes.

Audience
The target audience for this film trailer would probably be large because of the characters and characteristics that the characters are portraying. Also I think that it would appeal to mainly females round about 8-30 years. I say this because in the film trailer there is girls in every single shots of the scenes and because the film has their own theme for the film it attracts the girls because of they costumes, make up and also the setting of the film. At the beginning of the film trailer there is humour to attract viewers to watch more of it. As you see they introduce a new student to the school (like any other school would do with a new student)and they say she's from Africa and one of the teachers looks in the direction of the black girl who is a student at the school but she's not the new student and they were only joking. Also they were being stereo typical in a humour way. I think more females than males would watch this because its a bit of a chick flick/american girl teen comedy about teenagers acting like adults, wearing promiscuous clothes and strutting around acting like they are bad and better than others.

Platform
The film trailer is only 3.45 minutes long so its not so long for an actual film. Plus you could watch it on the internet illegally because now a days people watch it for free on their tablets and phones etc. Also you would watch the film trailer in cinema before a movie is played there are adverts.

Genre
This video is a music video. The genre for this music video is pop/r&b. I say pop/r&b because she's an pop/r&b artist and she writes her own music.

Audience
The target audience for this music video is 13-20. The age is quite young because she's an young artist that only wants to attract young teens and early 20's. Its probably more females than males that would like this because she has fans that are into the things she's in such as wolf-pack. She's in a thing called wolf pack with Jaden Smith and Kylie Jenner. Also in the music video there are a lot of men in the video it would attract females than males because there's one girl which is Pia Mia and she's just surrounded with all these males and girls would look u to her because of her clothes she's wearing and what's she's doing.

Platform
The platform for this music video would be on YouTube, Vevo, Phone, Tablets, IPods but since teenagers are being aimed at in this music video they would most likely watch it on their phones/IPads.

Genre
This video is a film trailer. The genre to this film trailer is Chick-Flick.
Audience
The target audience for this film trailer is 13-25. I say 13-25s because the characters are in high school and they are all teenagers living it big with their expensive clothes, cars and going to parties late at night and I think young girls and older females would love this. Also I think more females than males would watch this because some girls like seeing females in a movie with designer clothes and a attractive man in the movie and the guy gets the girl kind of thing.
Platform
The platform for this film trailer would be on Netflix, Online, Blink box,TV ,Tablet, Phone and Laptop. I say this because now a days youngsters don't want to wait for it to come on TV so they register to movie apps.

Let's talk Media...

I chose media studies because my mum did it for her GCSE in the past then my sister did and their opinions on media was that you had to work hard but overall their experiences were fantastic and fun.

The most exciting part of the course that I'm excited about would probably be making your own music video. I say this because you get to express your media skills and knowledge and learning to a music video. What I like about this task is that it’s not a basic kind of task you will need to do, it is fun but at the same time you would need to plan it all out so you would know what you are doing and so you can get the grade you want. Also another thing I like about it is watching the music videos of artists because you get more of an understanding of how the song relates to their kind of background.

The skills I am hoping to learn in Media would be Photoshop. I say Photoshop because I actually don't know how to Photoshop and it would be interesting to find out how it’s done. The grade I would like to achieve would be an A or A*.I would like to get high grades for media because I feel I have the potential to get those grades by jotting down important notes, learning from my mistakes, hand in my coursework on time and last but not least working as hard as I can to get the grades that I would like to get.

The last TV show I watched was the world cup. I watched the match between Colombia and Japan, the scores were 3 to Colombia and 1 to Japan. The last movie I watched was Ride along. To be honest if I am going to watch TV it’s only for certain shows like Youngers on e4 or Hollyoaks on channel 4 or the world cup on itv or the news on BBC1.

In my opinion, I think that TV programmes and films attract an audience because some people have certain genres that they like to watch. Also they advertise it to people on adverts, billboards and posters. I also think they try to appeal to people to persuade them to watch their tv show instead of other companies programme. It’s kind of like a competition, for instance think of Eastenders and Emmerdale. They are both good shows but they both try to outdo each other. Whenever there is a tragic storyline in one of the two TV programmes, one of the shows always wants to outdo them or make their story line more appealing and dramatic to get more views then the other show.

The technology I used to access the media in the last 24hours is my laptop, IPod and my phone. I use all three of them for different reasons.

The device I use the most to access the media would be my IPod.

The main story of BBC news is that North Korea threatens US over a movie. In my opinion, I think that they shouldn't have made the movie because the king that was to rule over North Korea died 3 years ago and they were hoping to call it Kim Jong-un but because he died they had to rename it to the interview. I personally think that if their king died why would you still promote it if you know it’s going to cause problems or offend people that loved him? Also a North Korea spokesman said "Making and releasing a movie on a plot to hurt our top-level leadership is the most blatant act of terrorism and war and will absolutely not be tolerated." I watched the trailer and to be honest I think it’s a bit offensive to North Korea because they are basically trying to make him look like the bad guy and a terrorist and I know it’s only a movie but still it’s not right for them to be making a movie of a dead man. I also realised that the actor looked exactly like Kim Jong-un. I think it’s the main story because it’s about war and that attracts people to see if there is conflict or rivalry between the two countries and to see people’s reaction towards this situation.

The main story for Guardian News is that David Cameron is rebuked by the judge over Andy Coulson comments. I think its head news because David Cameron is supposed to be representing our country Britain and also supposed to be our Prime Minister but if you’re making comments and making a bad impression of yourself then you’re making a bad impression of Britain.
